US Consumers Expect Commerce Search Features That Guide Their Shopping Journey

Over half of US online adults rely on the search function on a retailer or brand’s website to find the products they intend to buy. In fact, 52% of them say they rely more on the search function than they do on the site’s menu to browse products. To improve the consumer’s shopping experience, retailers should ensure that their site’s search function includes features like filters on results and type-ahead in the search box. This is a snapshot of Forrester’s data on US consumers’ expectations and use of search on retailer and brand sites.
