Few US online adults have used specialty search solutions, including image search, voice-to-search, and product quizzes. Fewer than 20% have used a product quiz to narrow search results, a voice command to search, or an uploaded photo when searching for a product on a retailer or brand’s site and are interested in doing so again. Just 24% have scanned an item’s barcode to see the product listing and want to continue using this feature. Most importantly, most have not heard of these search features or are not interested in using them. This is a snapshot of Forrester’s consumer data on interest in, awareness of, and adoption of specialty commerce search features on retailer and brand sites.
