Bring your own PC programs are gaining a lot of interest with infrastructure groups today. Why? Because the idea of lower IT costs, less complaints from employees, and overall less conflicts with the business are too much to overlook. Today's employees are requiring more flexibility and better technology from IT than they ever have before, and IT has no choice but to give in. Unfortunately, infrastructure groups are "giving in" without speaking to their sourcing professionals. This is leading to higher sourcing costs, leaving sourcing professionals asking what happened. To be successful, sourcing and infrastructure should get together and talk about the outcome so that contracts can be negotiated accordingly.
