Chief Data and Transformation Officer, DBS Bank

Nimish Panchmatia is the Chief Data & Transformation Officer for DBS Bank. With over 20 years of experience, he leads the bank’s transformation & data strategy—anticipating emerging trends, steering innovation, and ensuring DBS maintains its competitive edge in the banking and financial landscape. A core part of his mandate is to experiment with new technologies to assess their potential value to the bank, while continuously enhancing customer and employee experiences.

This includes developing the banks growth strategies around AI and Data, Innovation, Operating Model Transformation, Agile at Scale or Managing through Journeys, Customer Experience, Future of Work, amongst others.

Under his leadership, the bank’s AI efforts—including the rollout of genAI and agentic AI – have resulted in hundreds of deployments across the organisation and contributed to around SGD $1 billion in economic impact in 2025. This momentum has strengthened DBS’s position as an industry leader in applied AI at scale and earned the bank recognition as the World’s Best AI Bank by Global Finance in 2025.

Prior to this, Nimish had also served as the Head of GTS Hong Kong where he was responsible for the bank’s Corporate Cash, Trade and Custody business, as well the CIO and Head of T&O for Hong Kong and China, where he oversaw Technology, Operations and Corporate functions. Before joining DBS in 2010, Nimish has also worked with DHL Express in various leadership positions, including Vice President of Customer Service & Experience for Asia Pacific.

He currently leads the AI and Digital Workgroup, as part of India-Singapore Business Roundtable (ISBR), as well as chairs the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) Future-Enabled Skills Work Group.
