Summary

Forrester surveyed 317 telecom decision-makers at European small and medium-size businesses (SMBs) in 2006. VoIP and mobility were SMBs' top priorities in 2006. Furthermore, we see continued SMB interest in purchasing service bundles in search of cost savings and the convenience of dealing with a single supplier. Reducing PSTN call costs is a must for SMBs: 22% are reducing their fixed voice spending, mostly thanks to lower prices and moving voice onto IP networks. Twenty-nine percent of SMBs say that setting mobile strategies and policies is a priority. Combining mobile and WLAN is hot, too — 21% think that dual-mode phones (GSM/Wi-Fi) and seamless switching between the two networks are a priority for their technology refreshment plans.
