Summary

In recent years, we have seen a continued increase in online shopping around the holidays. Forrester's US Online Holiday Retail Forecast, 2012 again showed an increase in consumer spending; online spend in particular was forecast to grow 12% from 2011. Consumers are on the hunt for holiday deals, not just during the holiday season but all year round. Most consumers have an idea of what they are willing to spend on holiday gifts and do their best not to exceed it. While most stay within or under their budget, if it comes down to staying on budget or giving the ideal gift, consumers will gladly spend the extra money.
