Why Read This Report

Online and mobile banking are now widespread across Western Europe, with small numbers of people banking on tablets. Over the next five years, growing adoption of smartphones and tablets will result in both an increase in the number of people using digital banking and a change in the devices that they use. While mobile banking use will grow fast, tablet banking will grow twice as fast. In this report, we look at the underlying drivers and growth of digital banking in seven Western European countries from 2014 to 2018: France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.
