SugarCRM was founded in April 2004 and has grown to support 900 paying customers and 50 languages. The firm boasts 150 resellers in 30 countries and 5,000 developers contributing translations, bug fixes, and extensions to the product. Because SugarCRM's original business model did not suit the customer relationship management (CRM) market, the founders migrated quickly to the current model of selling advanced enterprise features.
