In Forrester's 70-criteria evaluation of point-of-service (POS) vendors, we identified the most significant solution providers in this category — Epicor Software, Fujitsu, NCR, JDA Software, Microsoft, Micros Systems (both its Retail-J and Xstore solutions), Oracle, Retalix, SAP, and Wincor Nixdorf — and researched, analyzed, and scored them. This report details our findings about how each vendor measures up and plots where they stand in relation to each other to help application development and delivery (AD&D) professionals select the right partner for their needs in implementing large-scale point-of-service systems. After the evaluation was published, Forrester discovered that it contained some inaccurate information; we have updated this latest version to correct that information.
