Summary

Most European banks have invested in mobile banking over the past few years, and consumers are finally starting to use it. Adoption has grown tremendously but is still far from mainstream acceptance. Consumer adoption of smartphones and increasing use of the mobile Web will drive further sustained growth of casual, informational use of mobile banking — to check balances, review transactions, and receive alerts. To capitalize on growing interest in mobile banking, eBusiness and channel strategy professionals must improve mobile customer experiences and make the most of the channel's unique attributes if mobile banking is to become a critical part of how a majority of Europeans manage their bank accounts.
