Summary

While Mobile World Congress in Barcelona; CeBIT in Hanover, Germany; and SXSW in Texas all featured wearable technology this year, the largest dedicated event for wearables so far was the Wearable Technology Show held in London in March. It was the virgin outing for this event, which saw 1,478 delegates, 108 speakers, and 35 exhibitors gathered to present the bazaar of hardware and software that make up the loosely grouped wearables category. Like many of the products and solutions on display, the event had a "beta" feel, with both organizers and attendees finding their way. This brief showcases some key trends and new use cases emerging from the event.
