Summary

The UK is grappling with a second wave of COVID-19 cases and the end of the post-Brexit transition period. Technology, marketing, and employee experience (EX) leaders with UK-based employees should use this third installment of Forrester’s PandemicEX Survey, fielded in October in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK, to understand how their UK employees are experiencing the pandemic’s impacts now. More than a third of UK employees admit experiencing pandemic fatigue and feeling overwhelmed in October. Confidence in past, current, and future crisis response measures by business and government alike slumped among UK employees: In May, 62% believed that their companies were prepared for a prolonged pandemic; by October, just 51% did. In October, 26% of our UK respondents reported that their company had laid people off because of the pandemic — up from just 12% in May. Perhaps unsurprisingly, 48% report that their workload has increased from the pre-COVID baseline. For more strategies to mitigate the shocks and challenges your UK employees face, enable remote and safe working environments, and align your customers’ and employees’ needs, schedule an inquiry.
