Companies that have strong digital business, customer experience (CX), and marketing alignment have better revenue results than those that don’t. According to Forrester’s Consumer Digital Experiences Survey, 2023, 27% of digital experience (DX) professionals who say digital business, CX, and marketing leadership are aligned when making strategic DX decisions (“leaders”) also say their year-over-year revenue growth rate increased significantly. In contrast, 41% of those who lack that alignment (“laggards”) reported a stable or declining annual revenue growth rate. The differences are starker for growth relative to the competition; nearly three-quarters of laggards said their revenue growth was behind or on par with the industry, while more than half of leaders said their growth surpassed it.
