Summary

Demand for business architects has been on the rise since 2010. However, heads of business architecture (BA) practices have found it difficult to find external candidates with the required skills and experience, and so must resort to promoting internally or using contract staff. Training bodies and consultancies have recognized the need for business architecture training, with many providing certification. However, without recognized business architecture standards bodies, these certification programs are not widely accepted. This report highlights the current state of business architecture certification and its acceptance within organizations.
