Business resilience has become a competitive advantage, but achieving it is straining historical relationships between the CIO’s organization and other C-suite leaders, such as chief product, data, and technology officers. In the future, almost all C-suite leaders will become jointly accountable for business resilience, with the chief operations officer or a hybrid risk- and operations-focused executive coordinating actions for the enterprise. Product management, resilience engineering, DevOps, and platform teams will form the nexus of tomorrow’s “infrastructure and operations” environment. And new concepts like chaos engineering, resilient by design, and data resilience will grow in importance.
