Despite the usefulness of generative AI (genAI) in their daily tasks, consumers remain wary of its negative impacts. Among US and UK online adults who have used or heard of genAI, the spread of misinformation/disinformation as well as data privacy violations are top concerns, while environmental sustainability falls to the bottom of the list. Across topics ranging from job displacement to copyright infringement, US and UK online adults are similarly apprehensive about genAI’s potential harms.
