Firms are often torn between forces driving application change or transformation and the overarching desire for cost management. At the same time, they often struggle to deliver projects on time and within budget. Some of the root causes of delays and budget increases are beyond the control of application planners, but a lack of thorough preparation and planning is often one of the main reasons for project failure.
