The rapid increase in internet and mobile penetration in Indonesia has helped “buy now, pay later” (BNPL) solutions gain traction. BNPL’s simple approval process and lack of interest charges make it an attractive credit and payment option for Indonesians. According to Forrester data, more Indonesian online adults who bought products online in the past three months used BNPL to pay for them than elsewhere in Asia Pacific. Indonesians most frequently choose BNPL for its flexible payment options and to get a discount or offer. This report provides a snapshot of Forrester’s data on the attitudes and behaviors of online adult banking customers in Indonesia.
