Nearly Half Of US Consumers Want Retailers To Have Digital Payments On Their Website

Just under half of all US online adults think it’s important for retailers or brands to give them the option to use digital payments on their websites, according to Forrester’s Retail Topic Insights 1 Survey, 2025. And younger US online adults are even more insistent: 68% of US online adults under the age of 25 say that paying with digital payments is important. However, keep in mind that most consumers want better payment experiences, not more payment methods — so don’t go overboard adding more payment methods. This data snapshot shows US online adults’ attitudes about the option to use digital payments while shopping online.
