Checking accounts are central to a customer’s relationship with their primary bank, and an increasing number of customers use their mobile phone to find, research, and open an account. To discover how effectively companies meet customers’ expectations, we evaluated the mobile sites of 12 banks in the US and Canada. Scotiabank and TD Canada Trust have the strongest mobile sales sites overall, but all banks have a lot of work to do to improve the checking account purchase journey if they want to drive deposits and win primacy. Digital executives can use this report to understand where North American banks’ mobile websites excel, where they fall short, and how to strengthen their own mobile website.
