mCommerce experiences will replace agents for routine purchases, allowing customers to buy and administer their policies when, where, and how they want — be it via a phone call, website, or smartphone app. More consumers will purchase insurance through virtual assistants that mimic what agents do today: listen to their needs, give personalized advice, and provide offers that help them protect their assets, health, and wealth. After years of using historical data and selling policies annually, insurers will use dynamic data to design, price, and underwrite policies — and proactively offer them to consumers in their moment of need. Real-time data will allow coverage to become more atomized, thereby simplifying purchase decisions and letting consumers buy and use simpler, well-understood services on smaller screens.
