UK Grocery Shopping Habits, Q1 2022

Summary

At least 70% of UK online adults continue to engage in social distancing and mask-wearing in public, but half are now usually buying all or most of their groceries in person. By contrast, 32% buy all or most of their groceries online. Thirteen percent of UK online adults report buying all of their groceries online. By comparison, 16% of US online adults and just 7% of French online adults say they shop for groceries exclusively online. Among UK, French, and US online adults, grocery is the retail category that the most consumers report shopping more for in the beginning of 2022 than they did at the beginning of 2021.
