On April 15, the United States Census Bureau released its first retail sales estimates for March. As expected, the numbers are down overall, with spikes for obvious categories such as groceries. Overall, however, the declines were not as deep as expected, which suggests that some tactics — like moving aggressively to online business — are helping to stanch the bleeding.
