In 2022, total retail sales of the Europe-5 economies — Germany, the UK, France, Italy, and Spain — will reach €2.2 trillion. Additionally, consumers in Europe-5 countries will spend €355 billion in 2022 purchasing products online. These online purchases represent nearly 16% of total retail sales for these five markets. In 2027, we expect Europe-5 online retail sales to reach €553 billion. This report provides a five-year forecast for total retail sales, online retail sales, and online retail penetration of 22 product categories for each of the Europe-5 economies.
