Summary

Economic uncertainty, cloud-native technology, and demands for data sovereignty will reshape cloud in 2023. Enterprises seeking to contain cloud spending will turn to third-party providers for a vendor-neutral view while moving heavily into cloud-native infrastructure for a growing number of workloads. A hyperscale cloud provider will buy a software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider, while hyperscalers will adapt to demands for greater efficiency and security. “National” clouds will gather momentum, with the big German banks embracing such solutions. This report explores Forrester’s predictions for cloud computing in 2023.
