Vendors have both opportunities and challenges in the dynamic ePurchasing market, with strong double-digit growth projected for 2008 despite a slowing overall IT market. While products like eProcurement and eSourcing are widely adopted and have slower growth, other products like contract life-cycle management, automated spend analysis, electronic invoice presentment and processing (EIPP), services procurement, supplier network services, and supplier performance management have more limited adoption and great growth potential to strategists expanding their business.
Ariba, Oracle, and SAP still are the largest vendors with broad offerings — but they control less than half of the total market. Other vendors have highly competitive products in specific categories and have good potential to remain significant players in the market.
We continue to see new entrants and offerings in the market, with updates since our report was published.
