New research from Forrester reveals that 62% of information workers who use or would like to use a tablet would prefer to use it with a keyboard. Despite this, the bulk of tablets used by information workers in the US and Europe offer distinctly touch-first experiences: Apple’s iPad and various Android-based models make up 86% of the tablets used for work purposes today. However, the report reveals that many workers believe they would benefit from using a keyboard:

  • 35% of information workers would like a tablet with a keyboard that turns into a small laptop.
  • 27% prefer a wireless keyboard.
  • 34% of workers reported that, “I’d rather just use a regular tablet without a keyboard and use a computer for tasks that require a lot of typing.”
