Forrester Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORR), today announced that it has appointed Daniel Mahoney to the position of vice president, Giga Research and to Forrester’s executive team. As head of Giga’s research, his primary responsibilities include managing the worldwide Giga research organization and overseeing the delivery of the Giga product line. Mahoney joins Forrester from Giga Information Group, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Forrester Research, where he oversaw all worldwide research activity.

“Dan brings to Forrester more than 30 years of executive management experience in the IT industry,” stated George F. Colony, chairman of the board and chief executive officer, Forrester Research. “The breadth and depth of his management capability complements the strengths of Forrester’s strong executive team. In addition, his rich knowledge of technology’s impact on business already has proven to be an asset as Forrester’s integration of Giga moves forward.”

In addition to his technology research expertise, Mahoney has extensive experience as a vendor, user, and consultant. Prior to joining Giga, Mahoney held senior management positions at Intranet Partners, Dataquest North America, and Household Credit Services. In addition, Mahoney worked at IBM in a variety of marketing and development positions, and he led IBM’s consulting and services organization in Silicon Valley.

Mahoney holds a B.A. in mathematics from Marist College and has done advanced degree work in computer science at New York University and in the M.B.A. program at Santa Clara University.
