Twenty-eight percent of companies are planning to implement a new big data project this year, according to a survey of 1,658 global business and technology decision-makers. What’s more is that while 71% of IT departments use or are planning to use big data solutions, other parts of the organization are catching up: 48% of operations groups use or are planning to use big data, followed by marketing (44%), finance (42%), sales (40%), and customer service (29%).
