Forrester Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORR), a leading provider of research and analysis on the Internet and emerging technologies, today announced five major initiatives to deliver high-quality analysis on Canada’s Internet economy. The five initiatives are: 1) a new research product focused on the evolution of the Internet economy in Canada; 2) a new research team dedicated to Canada research; 3) Forrester’s first Canada Forum, to be held in Toronto in June 2001; 4) a new Toronto office that will open in December; and 5) the expansion of Forrester’s sales and client services organization in the country. Forrester’s new initiatives will be led by Stuart D. Woodring, vice president, research for emerging Internet economies, a 10-year Forrester veteran.

“Canada is quickly embracing the Internet economy, and there is strong demand for forward-looking, idea-driven, Canada-specific research,” said Woodring. “Forrester will leverage all of the capabilities that have made it the clear leader in Internet research in the US and Europe to create a compelling research offering for this market.”

Woodring continued, “Our new Canada Market Focus product will analyze the issues that are vital to Canadian businesses, such as business-to-business and business-to-consumer market sizings, telecom and ISP infrastructure, financial services, and governmental regulation, as well as identify the winners and losers in the local Internet market. In addition, it will extend our analysis to new business models and specific industries in order to address the unique dynamics at play in the market.”

“We have hired a first-rate research team,” said Woodring. “Analyst Jordan Kendall has an extensive background in telecom and regulatory affairs from his experience with AT&T Canada and other telecom vendors. Analyst James Sharp brings a full understanding of technology and financial services issues from his positions with Toronto Dominion and Canada Life Assurance.”

The Canada Market Focus will kick off with its initial Report in December 2000. Forrester’s first Canada Forum will be held at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto, June 26-28, 2001, and will feature presentations by Forrester analysts and CEOs of leading Canadian companies. Forrester’s Canada office will open in December in the heart of downtown Toronto.
