Access to specific reports and capabilities depends on your Forrester subscription. Existing clients can activate Forrester AI quickly, while new clients can request a demo to explore use cases, access options, and deployment paths.

Launched in October 2023, Forrester AI is Forrester’s generative AI experience designed to help leaders make progress on their most important initiatives faster. It delivers insights and advice grounded in trusted Forrester research, data, and analyst expertise.

Clients can access Forrester AI through the Forrester platform and where they work, including:

• Forrester AI within research reports, where users can get instant summaries and interact directly with a specific report through an embedded AI panel

That means responses reflect tested perspectives, longitudinal insight, and human accountability rather than unverified or generic sources.

Each response shows which research it’s based on, so you can review the underlying evidence and validate the guidance. And because Forrester stands behind its ideas and experts, you’re not just getting answers — you’re getting advice you can trust for high‑stakes decisions.

Forrester developed Forrester AI in-house using open-source technologies and foundational large language models (LLMs) that do not perform or require training on user data. Forrester AI uses retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) to produce insights and advice grounded in Forrester’s published research.

When you submit a question, Forrester AI identifies the most relevant Forrester research reports, blogs published since January 1, 2018, and analyst bio content. This material is provided as context to the LLM, which synthesizes a response based on Forrester’s perspectives. Each response includes transparency into the source research used so users can review and validate the underlying content.

Yes. The insights and advice generated by Forrester AI are grounded in Forrester research reports, blogs published since January 1, 2018, and analyst bio pages. Forrester AI does not rely on open internet scraping to generate its responses.

That said, because generative AI synthesizes information, we always recommend reviewing the cited Forrester research linked below each response to verify critical details and context—especially for high‑stakes decisions.

When you use the Forrester AI Agent for Microsoft Copilot, you will receive synthesized answers that include Forrester and non-Forrester content that is unique to you and your business, based on your Copilot usage.

Forrester does not sell or share identifiable data entered into Forrester AI. Your use of Forrester AI is governed by Forrester’s Artificial Intelligence Policy and Privacy Policy, which describe how personal data may be collected and used.

To improve accuracy, relevance, and product quality, Forrester may internally review questions submitted to Forrester AI and the responses generated. As with any AI-enabled tool, users should avoid entering sensitive, personal, or confidential information when using Forrester AI.

No. Forrester does not train AI models on Forrester AI user inputs (prompts) or outputs (responses). User interactions are not used to train public or third‑party models.

As part of quality assurance and ongoing product improvement, authorized Forrester employees may review submitted questions and generated responses to ensure accuracy, relevance, and usefulness. This review process does not involve training the underlying AI models on customer data.

Responses generated by Forrester AI are considered Forrester Works, similar to other Forrester research content. In accordance with your contract and Forrester’s Sharing Policy, licensed users may share up to one paragraph of text from a Forrester AI response for internal presentation purposes only.

Forrester AI responses may not be shared externally without written consent from Forrester. Users may cite the underlying published Forrester research that is referenced in the response, subject to Forrester’s Citation Policy.

When a user asks a question in an AI tool such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, the host application recognizes that Forrester research is required to generate an informed answer. The host application sends a request through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which acts as a standardized connector between AI platforms and data providers.

Forrester’s MCP server authenticates users via OAuth 2.0 and exposes Forrester research as AI‑consumable assets, including:

• Tools, which enable actions such as searching reports or retrieving frameworks
• Resources, including research documents, insights, and data
• Prompts, which guide how Forrester content is used to construct answers

The AI platform then synthesizes a tailored response using Forrester research, clearly showing where the source content was applied so users can review and cite the original research.
