Forrester Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORR) today announced that it has appointed Charles Chang to the position of president, Forrester Asia Pacific. A veteran IBM executive, Chang brings to Forrester more than 27 years of executive and entrepreneurial experience in the technology industry. His primary responsibilities include leading the firm’s strategic growth initiatives in the region, building relationships with current and prospective clients, and delivering on Forrester’s mission of helping business thrive on technology change. Chang will work closely with other members of Forrester’s executive management team and will report to George F. Colony, Forrester’s chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

“Forrester is well-positioned to make a significant contribution to the Asia Pacific marketplace,” stated Colony. “Charles will play a critical leadership role as he builds upon Forrester’s presence in the region. His deep knowledge of technology and his expertise in serving emerging and established Asian companies will enable him to be a strong contributor to Forrester’s global growth and influence.”

Chang joins Forrester from Twin Cypress Group, where he was founder and managing director. The company advises Asia Pacific companies seeking growth technology investments in the US, as well as North American companies seeking opportunities in the Pacific Rim, especially in China. Chang has spent the majority of his career thus far at IBM, where he held executive sales, marketing, and general management positions with a focus on sales growth in Asia Pacific. He lived in Tokyo for three years. After IBM, he held senior positions at two technology firms: Business Objects, as senior vice president and general manager, Americas, and Informix, where he was senior vice president and group executive, Business Intelligence Group.

Chang has been a featured keynote speaker at leading technology conferences in Asia Pacific. He holds an M.A. in management from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
