Forrester Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORR) today announced that it has named Dwight Griesman, a 25-year marketing veteran, as its new chief marketing officer. As CMO, Griesman is now a member of Forrester’s Executive Team. He joined Forrester more than three years ago to build the Forrester Leadership Boards (FLB) Marketing programs.

“Based on Dwight’s experience as a senior marketing professional and his leadership in developing our Marketing FLBs, he is the right person to drive Forrester’s brand and marketing initiatives moving forward,” said George F. Colony, Forrester’s chairman of the board and chief executive officer. “Dwight will lead the company¿s efforts to clearly communicate and demonstrate the value of Forrester’s role-based offerings to IT, marketing, and technology industry leaders in the global marketplace.”

As leader of the FLB Marketing programs, Griesman regularly interacted with Forrester clients, contributed to research and program content development, and facilitated panel discussions at Forrester Events. Griesman’s background is a multidisciplinary blend of marketing, market research, and sales across various industries. Prior to joining Forrester, Griesman was the managing director of The Forbes Consulting Group’s Quantitative Analytics division, providing custom research and consulting services to Fortune 1000 clients.

Griesman began his career in sales at Scott Paper. He has held a variety of senior marketing and research positions at companies such as Hasbro and Welch Foods, where he was the director of market research. Griesman was the vice president of marketing and sales for Lydstrom, a digital music startup in the Boston area selling reference design and software to leading consumer electronics manufacturers.

“Understanding the business needs and goals of Forrester’s clients was the key driver of the company’s decision to pursue a successful role-based strategy last year,” said Griesman. “As Forrester’s new CMO, I am committed to ensuring that the voice of the customer continues to be central to how Forrester enhances its products and services across the 19 IT, marketing, and technology industry roles we serve.”

Over the years, Griesman has been active in senior marketing organizations, has spoken at business groups such as the Conference Board, and has appeared in marketing industry publications. Griesman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bucknell University.
