Forrester Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORR) today announced the appointment of Peter Carr to the position of country manager, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). The appointment is part of Forrester’s multilayered bid to enhance its growth and influence in the Asia Pacific market.

As country manager, Carr will lead Forrester’s advisory and sales efforts in the ANZ markets. “Australia and New Zealand are strategic regional markets to Forrester Asia Pacific’s growth strategy,” said Charles Chang, president, Forrester Asia Pacific. “We welcome an executive of Peter’s caliber. His extensive experience in the technology, research, and media industries as well as his interaction with government organizations makes him a strong addition to Forrester’s Asia Pacific management team.”

Carr previously held a Middle East vice presidency role with META Group. He was stationed in Dubai, where he was responsible for building infrastructure for partner and alliance growth with IT&T organizations throughout the Middle East.

During the past decade, Carr has held a range of senior management positions in technology-focused media and research conglomerates in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and the US. In these positions, he has held direct relationships with a portfolio of major corporate, technology, and telecommunication companies as well as major federal and state government agencies, including defense, immigration, and taxation. Prior to this, his previous roles included editorial and sales management positions with Time Warner and Pearson.

“I am a privileged participant in the next phase of Forrester’s growth in this part of the world,” said Carr. “Forrester is a respected and trusted advisor to global businesses. I look forward to increasing our presence in ANZ to benefit our current new clients, who rely on Forrester’s strategic help in understanding the impact of technology on business.”

Of specific interest to the ANZ market this year, Forrester will release the next round of Asia Pacific Technographics® research, which will focus on the current and expected use of technology and technology governance in the Asia Pacific region.
