PLayLouder's CEO Paul Hitchman says it's "pure speculation" that they're close to signing up with an ISP. I indicated yesterday that if the story was accurate it indicated a very significant change in tact from labels. It appears that they're not quite that worried yet. But this doesn't mean PlayLouder isn't in advance negotiations with an ISP of course. The "pure speculation" quote is pretty non-committal. My take is that if they are close to announcing something, it will be significantly watered down from the proposition they've been trying to get labels to sign up to for years. Making it more palatable to the industry and obviating many of those awkward questions that would be raised by a licensed subscription blanket for file sharing.
