Understanding teenage behavior is an eternal challenge, not only for parents but also for content providers and product managers trying to engage them. Our Technographics research shows that European teens combine two great passions online: enjoying content such as music, video, and video gaming and communicating with friends.

Our data shows that teens typically like to consume media at the same times each day, peaking in the early evening, and this behavior is quite consistent across the different media channels.

But be careful not to generalize: companies looking to engage youngsters across multiple European territories must understand the significant country-level differences beneath this headline statistic.

For example, one-third of German teens typically watch TV between 2 pm and 5 pm. That is the highest rate among the countries covered, yet unlike elsewhere, virtually no German teens watch TV before then. And Italians and French teens are more likely to enjoy some media content after 8 pm.
