If the dazzling lights of the famous Las Vegas Strip seem even a bit brighter this week, it might be the thought leadership illuminating The Venetian, as thousands of the smartest minds in B2B gather for the annual SiriusDecisions Summit. With a theme of “Aligning Priorities to Drive Intelligent Growth,” the 2017 Summit is delivering cutting-edge research, top-notch networking opportunities and a few surprises.

The first day of Summit kicked off at 6:30 this morning, with the official SiriusDecisions Summit 5K. Early risers laced up their sneaks and braved the desert heat to raise money to raise money for the VWM Families Foundation, a cause close to the SiriusDecisions family.

Next, Summit newbies and anyone looking for a refresher on essential SiriusDecisions concepts packed the meeting rooms for the ever-helpful Foundations sessions. From demand creation to marketing operations to sales enablement, the Foundations presentations ensured attendees were geared up for the array of new research, models and frameworks to come over the next few days.

Meanwhile, attendees at the Executive Leadership Exchange mingled with peers and enjoyed presentations from SiriusDecisions analysts and guest speakers. This year’s gathering focused on audience-centricity.

After the first vendor case studies of the day and a hearty networking lunch in the Summit Marketplace, attendees gathered for the official Summit opening.

Professional dancers, giant neon animations depicting the major Summit themes, and opening remarks from Tony Jaros, president and chief product officer at SiriusDecisions, kicked things off. Attendees were also given their first glimpse at the Command Center®, a new benchmarking offering from SiriusDecisions that gives clients instant access to unprecedented amounts of data.

Finally, delegates were treated to an opening keynote from singer-songwriter/philanthropist Jewel, who wowed the crowd with live performances interspersed with inspirational stories full of valuable B2B lessons, generating a flurry of enthusiastic tweets.
