Former Deputy National Security Advisor James Steinberg And HP Fellow Alan Kay To Keynote at Giga¿s 2003 Flagship Conference
Giga Information Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Forrester Research Inc, (NASDAQ: FORR) today announced that James Steinberg, former US Deputy National Security Advisor, will be the opening keynote speaker at GigaWorld IT Forum US. The conference runs from May 13-16 at The JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix, AZ. Mr. Steinberg will present his keynote Monday, May 13 on the evolving impact that technology has on globalization, governance, and security.
Steinberg, Senior Advisor to the Markle Foundation, a non-profit organization, is an expert on the changing face of the global political and economic environment. He examines the impact that broad changes in the global landscape have on business and the economy at home. Steinberg was Deputy National Security Advisor to former President Clinton from 1996 to 2000. His responsibilities covered the full range of issues in international economics and national security, including US-Japan relations and US-European political, economic and security issues, as well as emerging issues of globalization, such as information technology, biotechnology, and cyber-security.
Alan Kay, Senior Fellow at HP Labs, will speak on Wednesday, May 15 on the topic of the future reversal of current roles of IT professionals and field workers. Kay is one of the earliest pioneers of personal computing and founder of Xerox PARC. He has been a Xerox Fellow, Apple Fellow, Disney Fellow, and Chief Scientist of Atari. In addition to his role at HP, Kay is president of Viewpoints Research Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving both the general education and understanding of complex systems.
