Forrester’s latest research on C-suite tech purchasing patterns forecasts that CMOs’ US tech spending will reach $18 billion in 2018. Analyst Andrew Bartels estimates that CMO spending will increase at a 14% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the six-year period from 2012 to 2018, the highest out of any executive role. Of the $18 billion budget that CMOs will spend, $7.1 billion will come from marketing automation software, prospect data and analytics tools, mobile apps, and related consulting services.
