On the eve of the launch of one of the most anticipated voice devices in recent memory, and amid criticism over a slow data network and the lack of carrier support for voice over WLAN (VoWLAN) for consumers, it seems, in the enterprise voice and network infrastructure world, we might finally have critical mass on dual-mode devices.

As Nokia announces its plans to work with non-carrier channels to distribute its Eseries enterprise-class devices and as T-Mobile announced that it’s going national (in the US) with its HotSpot @Home service, could the time be now for dual-mode devices in the enterprise? It’s a topic we’ll be tacking in our research in the coming weeks. In the meantime we’re curious, is your enterprise feeling the pull of a multi-network future?
