I am thrilled to formally kick off Forrester’s Summit for CIOs in Asia Pacific. Building on our global CIO Summit series, this year’s summits will take place in Sydney on August 27, Singapore on August 30 and Mumbai on September 3. This year’s theme is “Mastering Tomorrow’s Business Outcomes”, because more than ever, Asia Pacific CIOs need to understand the importance of moving beyond back-end IT to align to strategic business objectives and drive innovation.
When sharing my excitement about our summits, I am often asked what makes our events special. First and foremost, our attendees appreciate the fact that we bring together the most selective and senior group of CIOs in an intimate setting to connect. Rather than targeting the masses, our aim is to set a high threshold for the delegates that attend and then provide them with a world class experience through our thought leadership, research, tools and networking opportunities.
In order to deliver on the promise, we’ve ensured our speaker line-up this year is better than ever. Forrester’s global CIO analyst superstar Bobby Cameron will start us off with “Transforming IT Into Business-as-a-Service”. Bobby will be sharing recent research on how the world’s leading CIOs are creating business services teams that respond quickly across the customer’s life cycle, the globe and the firm’s value chain. In addition to being one of Forrester’s leading global analysts, Bobby always delivers a great show with his energy and Southern charm!
We’ll follow Bobby’s lead with thought leadership from Forrester’s Global CIO Research Director Khalid Kark on “Winning the Customer Experience Game”. Forrester is convinced that CIO success in the future will hinge on how successfully they can build systems of engagement to transform customer experience. Khalid will provide actionable advice and explain how CIOs can best engage CMOs and their teams. But perhaps best of all, our industry keynote speakers couldn’t be more impressive:

- Jonathan Davey,General Manager NextGen Technology, National Australia Bank

Latest Asia Pacific Research
The events will also tailor content to the Asia Pacific markets where they are held. Regional CIO analysts John Brand, Manish Bahl, Tim Sheedy and I will be sharing local research and commentary. In fact, we’ll be releasing new Asia Pacific research on the day of the event to all of our delegates sharing regional IT benchmarks for reference within their own organizations. Local guidance will complement the other tools and actionable outcomes our delegates will take back to their organizations when the event concludes. After all, an event is only as good as the business outcomes it can generate for its participants.
In upcoming blog posts I’ll share more information on the specific sessions and what delegates can expect to learn. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any questions on the summits or recommendations on how we can make the events even better. Here’s to seeing you in Sydney, Singapore and Mumbai soon!
